Ballyhass Open Returns in 2020
New 3 stop series format based right across the summer.
We are delighted to announce that the Ballyhass Open is Returning in 2020. Last run in 2018 the Ballyhass Open was the biggest competition that we had run at the wakepark to date. It was designed completely from the ground up introducing new formats, encouraging new competitors and attracting professional riders from the UK to compete for cash prizes in the main event. It was an amazing weekend event that was so much fun to be a part of.
We took a break in 2019 after the success of the weekend and not wanting to do the BH open brand an injustice by rushing back into it. We have put our heads together over the winter and once again designed from the ground up an entire three-stop series. The first two stops will be treated as qualifications so riders who compete will be seeded going into the final head to head weekend in September. The more stops you do the more points you gain and the more favourable your draw will be when you are going head to head in your category.
The Stops are designed to get more competitive as the season progresses. Starting with a grassroots style unlimited falls comp and moving onto no falls allowed format and finally, a head to head knock out format.
Super excited to announce this format, with 3 stops, categories for all and a final weekend head to head and seeded showdown we believe this is going to be an awesome event for the entire 2020 wakeboarding season! We will be putting up awesome prizes including boards, vests, helmets and wetsuits for the overall series winners. Registration will be open from the start of the Ballyhass Wakeboarding season March 21st (provisional)
